Farewell 2009 – Bring On 2010!!

Wow! The end of 2009 already!! What a massive year with many people experiencing massive changes in their lives.

Lets hope that with the clearing of 2009 comes a fantastic 2010!

I wrote previously about setting a one(or two) word intention for the year. I have  chosen mine – Two words – Delight & Wealth.

Delight – I wanted a word which was fun & joyful as I could do with creating more of each in my life and not taking life so seriously; enjoying more moments what ever the outer circumstances may be.

Wealth – is something I have researched and wanted to create for many years – often a few steps forward & a few back.

My ex & I often had different idea’s of how to create wealth and how to spend money. Now being single I can appreciate the value of having your own personal wealth resources – especially if you are a stay at home mother. I also have no more excuses (blaming my ex) for not building my wealth my way.

2010 is my year for taking responsibility for My Wealth Creation – Not just financial wealth also my Inner Wealth… Wealth on all levels.

Wealth was the word I thought I shouldn’t use for the year – I should be happy with what I have – or it’s just ego wanting wealth – I should chose something better – Something more useful. I pondered many fantastic words to chose, however I have decided that  I am not listening to my “shoulds” I am choosing Wealth!

Have you chosen your word for 2010?

Wishing you all a fantastic, healthy, wealthy and delightful 2010

Lemon Essential oil – My Favorite Cleaning Product!

Common Name Lemon Botanical Name Citrus Limon

Lemons are high in therapeutic value – drink some freshly squeezed lemon juice in a cup of water every morning as a great way to boost your digestive system, cleanse your blood & liver and freshen your breath.

Lemon Essential Oil is produced by squeezing the essential oil from the rind of the fruit. It takes around 3000 lemons to produce 1kg of oil!

Lemon essential oil promotes clarity of mind, improving memory, digestion, invigorates and uplifts.

Lemon is my favorite oil for cleaning around the home – it is highly antiseptic with the ability to kill harmful bacterior in minutes.

Make your own Natural All Purpose Cleaner

You Will Need

  • A 500ml spray bottle (a clean recycled one is fine)
  • 50ml Environmentally Friendly Dish Liquid – I use Earth Choice
  • 25 – 50 drops Lemon Essential oil
  • 25 drops Lime Essential Oil (Optional)

Put the dish liquid and essential oils in the bottle – if you have Lime oil only use 25 drops of Lemon.                                                                                                                                                                                Fill with water shake well and there you have a simple, refreshing cleaner for your home.

Use on benches, walls, floors, toilet, sinks & showers.

For tough patches of dirt & grim put several drops of lemon oil directly on the spot let soak for a few minutes then wipe – you may need to alternate between spray & oil.

*Lemon is also great for removing crayon from walls & floors (use a test patch to ensure the oil doesn’t damage your paint)

2010 One Word Intention

With 2010 fast approaching I am thinking about my goals, hopes and intentions for 2010.

In the past I have all ways made resolutions with some success and some  non-success…

This year I am doing something different.

I recently discovered  Christine Kanes blog, her blog is filled with fantastic articles – I suggest you check it out.

Her idea is to scrap the whole resolution idea and instead set a one word Intention for the year (you may choose up to 3 if your like me and have trouble settling for just one!)

You choose your word and put it on your vision board, maybe make a few index cards with the word written on it & then see how this word impacts your life.

Some words I am contemplating choosing include Grace, Delight, Empowerment, Focus, Courage, Surrender – my recent favorite is Emerge – I still have a couple of weeks to choose so will wait until then for my final decision.

If you were to chose one word for the Year what would it be?

2009 Reflections

It’s the 17th of December 2009

This time last year I thought 2009 would be my year to get married to my partner of almost 5 years, buy a house and live happily ever after..

Instead I sit here a single mother, still renting and contemplating the massive changes that occurred for me in 2009.

The first half of 2009 saw my relationship crumble – rather suddenly, which triggered off overwhelming feelings of anxiety, depression, anger and rage. Unresolved childhood traumas also surfaced for attention & healing.

Me a usually peaceful & positive person was now wrestling with the darkness of my soul, thinking thoughts I never thought I would…. wondering why why why!!

It made me realize how much anxiety is not logical, its easy to say just stop thinking that – and even when you know your anxieties are not real – they are still so powerful – I  remember many times feeling like one of the people from Supernatural possessed with demons and all the blackness flowing out from within me.

During those dark times I tried to keep focus on there being a light at the end of the tunnel and that this challenging time was about the growth of me on a soul level and personal level.

I had to face my fears of being alone and of taking responsibility for my life – the ultimate realization that I and I alone am the one solely  responsible for my life.

From the darkness light did come; I learned about boundaries, setting boundaries, unhealthy relationships, relationship addictions, codependency & narcissism.                                                I put many of the tools I have learned over the years as a healer to use – I used essential oils, reiki & journelling daily, I recorded myself affirming positive beliefs and affirmation and played it all night to help me sleep and to reprogram my thinking, I had regular counseling session with a counselor and psychologist along with regular healings with one of my friends.

I can honestly say I have grown so much from the past year, the last 5 months have been much more stable, my anxiety is not triggered as often and certainly not to the degree it was earlier in the year. I am more confident within my self, I am very happy with my present life  -  I still have room to grow and I am a long way from perfection.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   This time last year I would of been waiting until I was perfect before writing a blog, but hey we all live in this place called Earth and if I wait until I am perfect I will be waiting a long time. :)

I also know I am not alone in my journey I know many people who also experienced significant changes in their lives, If you have any personal experiences you would like to share, please do!
